AutoSugar (“the app”) is developed and maintained by Nico Wiedemann. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is handled.
Summary
AutoSugar does not collect, store, or share any personal data with the developer or any third party. All data stays on your device or travels directly to the Nightscout servers you configure.
Data the app accesses
Nightscout credentials
The app stores the Nightscout URLs and API tokens you enter in the settings. This data is saved locally on your device using Android’s DataStore and is never transmitted anywhere other than to the Nightscout instance you configured.
Glucose data
The app fetches blood glucose readings from the Nightscout URLs you provide. This data is displayed on screen and used to trigger alerts. It is not stored persistently and is not sent to any third party.
Notifications
If you enable glucose alerts, the app uses Android’s notification system to alert you when readings go out of range. No notification content is shared with anyone.
Data the app does not collect
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No crash reporting
- No advertising identifiers
- No location data
- No data is ever sent to the developer or any third party
Third-party services
The app communicates exclusively with the Nightscout instances you configure yourself. The privacy practices of your Nightscout instance are governed by whoever operates it.
Data retention
All settings are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all stored data.
